Child Safety Standards

Effective date: October 24, 2026

These Child Safety Standards apply to the Lookout Mushroom Kingdom Android app (the "app"), a mushroom foraging and growing game with a community feed, published by Lookout Mushrooms ("we", "us"). Child safety questions or reports: mike@lookoutmushrooms.com.

Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any content that sexualizes minors. This content is never allowed in the app, in any form: photos, captions, comments, usernames, display names, bios or profile pictures. Accounts that post or share it are removed and permanently banned.

Who can use the app

The app is for people aged 13 and over. Accounts for children under 13 are not allowed. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we remove the account and delete its data. A parent or guardian who believes their child under 13 has an account can email mike@lookoutmushrooms.com and we will remove it.

How people interact in the app

  • The app has no private or direct messaging between users. People interact only through posts, comments and likes. Public posts, comments and profiles are visible to other signed-in users of the app.
  • Private posts are visible only to the person who made them.
  • Users can block any other user. A blocked user can no longer see the blocker's content or profile, and the blocker no longer sees theirs.
  • Users can delete their own posts and comments, and a post's owner can delete comments on their post.
  • The in-app AI helper, "Ask Mushy", is a one-to-one chat between a user and the AI. It is not a way for users to contact each other.

How to report a concern

  • In the app: you can report any post, comment or user profile from its menu (Report post, Report comment or Report user). Choose a reason, for example "Nudity or sexual content" or "Something else", and add an optional note of up to 1,000 characters. Reports are sent straight to us for review.
  • By email: send child safety concerns, or anything you cannot report in the app, to mike@lookoutmushrooms.com. You do not need an account to email us.

How we respond

  • Every report is reviewed by us, and we treat child safety reports as our highest priority.
  • If content or an account violates these standards, we remove the content, remove and permanently ban the account, and keep the relevant information where the law requires us to.
  • We report apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as required by U.S. law, and we cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
  • We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a report in good faith.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report suspected child exploitation to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

Our commitment

We review these standards as the app grows and update them when our features change. This page and our Privacy Policy describe how we protect young people who use the app.
