Mushroom Games Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
This policy explains how the Android app Mushroom Games (package com.lookoutmushrooms.mushroomgames), published by Lookout Mushrooms ("we", "us"), handles information. Mushroom Games bundles five arcade games: Spore Hop, Cap Stack, Puffball Pop, Spore Drop and Mycelium Run.
Summary
- You can play as a guest, fully offline, without an account.
- We never ask for your real name, and we do not collect your location (no GPS or location permission).
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects device data as described below. In regions that require it, we ask for your consent first.
- Google sign-in is optional and is only used for cloud save.
- Leaderboards only ever show a funny auto-generated name, and you can hide yourself from them.
Information stored on your device
Your game progress stays on your phone: coins, best scores, unlocked cosmetics, settings, daily streak and your funny player name. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Online global leaderboards
When you are online, the app sends the following to our leaderboard server, hosted by Supabase: a random player ID (created automatically, even for guests), your auto-generated funny name, your scores, the game and day each score belongs to, and how long the run took (used to reject impossible scores). Other players see only your funny name and scores. You can turn off On global boards on the Account screen; your scores are then hidden from everyone else. Free-text names cannot be entered, so no personal name is ever shown.
Optional Google sign-in and cloud save
If you choose Sign in with Google, Android's Credential Manager shares a Google ID token with us. From it, our server (Supabase authentication) stores your Google account ID and email address, so that you can sign in again. While you are signed in, a copy of your game progress (coins, bests, unlocks, streak) is saved to our server, so you can restore it on another phone. We do not use your email for marketing and never show it to other players. Signing out leaves your progress on the device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). The SDK may collect and process your device's advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), app interaction and diagnostic information. This is used to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. Google is responsible for this processing; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. The one-time "Remove Ads" purchase turns off ads in all five games.
Consent (Google User Messaging Platform)
In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and other regions where it is required, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can choose non-personalized ads, and you can change your choice later through the app's privacy options.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
Mushroom Games is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that run the app: Google (ads, consent, sign-in, Play) and Supabase (leaderboard and cloud-save hosting). All network traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Data retention and deletion
Leaderboard scores and cloud saves are kept until you ask us to delete them. To delete your leaderboard entries, cloud save and sign-in record, email us from the address you signed in with, or include your player name. We will delete the data within 30 days. Data held only on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app.
Changes
We may update this policy, and will change the effective date above when we do.
